Honduran Mahogany and Baltic Birch 24" x 24" Hardwood Cradled Substrate
Here is a super special one from our exotic collection! A spectacular 24" x 24" one-of-a-kind dream foundational start for your next Masterpiece! Handcrafted from sustainably sourced Honduran Mahogany and Baltic Birch hardwoods. Highlights of this cradle are its tight grain pattern, luster rich reddish-brown tones and iridescence that shimmers and dances in the light! This cradle really pops when seen from different light angles. No two boards are ever exactly the same making this truly unique.
This individually numbered substrate (SAS16) arrives to you ready to go out of the box. This cradle has been pre-sealed top, bottom and sides, next 4 coats of white hard-sandable gesso were applied to the sealed birch top and hand sanded between coats. This step crates a hard flat surface to create on. Lastly, four coats of Marine grade varnish (which helps with UV protection) were applied to the hardwood to seal, protect and finish the wood. The only step you need to do is tape off the Mahogany sides with high quality painter tape and you are ready to create. This is such a new and exciting way to showcase your next fine art project, epoxy resin project or whatever you can dream up! Includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
All of our substrates handcrafted, Heirloom quality and built to last for generations to come. Unlike the warped, unlevel, low quality wooden cradles you find in craft stores and on-line, this cradle weighs in at an impressive 6 lb 13.5 oz and measures a true 23 7/8" x 23 7/8". The gallery profile depth is 1 3/4" which includes the 1/4" Baltic birch top. The cradle is braced extra well on the back using 7 pieces of 7/8" thick Basswood including corner braces*. Unlike other "wooden" substrates on the market, ours do not contain any MDF, fiberboard, nails, screws or staples. We only use top-quality Baltic Birch, Basswood and Premium sustainably sourced Hardwoods.
